Charles Lim is a graduate of British School of Osteopathy in London. He has been in practice since 1989. He also holds a postgraduate MSc (Osteopathy) from the European School of Osteopathy and the University of Greenwich. He is registered with the General Osteopathic Council.
He has worked at the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) since 1991, from its earliest beginnings at the Royal Homeopathic Hospital in London. His association with the OCC continues and is currently working at their new teaching clinic near London Bridge / Tower Bridge. He worked for over 8 years in the neonatal intensive care unit at Barnet Hospital as a senior osteopath.
Over the years he has attended regular courses, study groups and conferences in the USA run by The Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation, The Cranial Academy and completed Dr James Jealous’ complete Biodynamics and paediatric program. He has passed the written and oral proficiency examination of the Cranial Academy and is an international member of the Cranial Academy, USA.
Charles specialises in gentle approaches in the treatment of adults, infants and children that are commonly termed as cranial, craniosacral or biodynamic osteopathy. Osteopathy in the cranial field is a speciality that does takes time to learn and develop. Over the years he has gradually come to appreciate the powerful effects that can be achieved using very minimal and subtle means.
Charles is also very much involved in postgraduate training. He is a faculty member of the international department at the European School of Osteopathy which based in Maidstone, Kent. He is on the faculty of the postgraduate Sutherland Cranial College in the UK which runs a postgraduate pathway for osteopaths who wish to specialise in osteopathy in the cranial field. He is a consultant at the Osteopathic Centre for Children which runs a postgraduate level 2-year paediatric diploma course with weekly clinical supervision. He is a faculty member of Wiener Schule Osteopathie. He is frequently invited to lecture at conferences, present workshops all over Europe. He has close links with the osteopathic profession in Russia, having taught the first cohort of doctors who wished to specialise in osteopathy in 1998.
